Summer time is traditionally the slowest time of the year for Martial Arts Schools. So why did we open One World Karate just as schools let out for Summer break?
One of the reasons was so that we has a few months of leeway to make sure that the school was set up to run smoothly come September when the expected influx of students arrived. Think of it like a test run. We have a few students, a few parents, and a few scheduling conflicts.
We can take the time to figure out what schedules work best for what age groups, what space requirements are likely to be faced, and how much time we have to host our classes.
The result of the last two months have been informative and educational for all concerned. As a result, the class structure of 1WK is changing.
Classes will be offered in 1 day a week, 2 day a week, and private lesson packages. These classes will be structured, meaning a one day a week class on Monday @ 4:15 PM is a separate class from the Friday class at the same time – despite it being for the same age group. Classes are not interchangeable.
As of yet, we do not have any classes totally full, but as school starts, that will change.
Classes AND Private lessons will be available on Monday, Friday, and Saturday each week.
The projected schedule will look like this:
Monday and Friday:
- 3:45 – 4:15 - Little Panthers
- 4:15 – 5:00 – Wheelchair class
- 5:00 – 5:45 – Class
- 5:45 – 6:30 – Class
- 6:30 – Private Lessons
Saturday:
- AM 9:00 – 12:15 – Private Lessons
- 12:15 – 12:45 – Little Panthers
- 12:45 – 1:30 – Class
- 1:30 – 2:15 – Class
- 2:15 – 3:00 – Class
The actual student age and type of the “Class” are TBD as they fill up. For students who take the recommended two weekly classes, there will be the option of taking a Monday / Friday class, or taking a Weekday (Mon OR Fri) / Saturday class.
